Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Alba Garzón Manjón holds a Ph.D in Chemistry from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and collaborates with the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona. Her research focuses on superconducting thin films and biocompatible stable nanoparticles. She worked on the synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4 and CeO2 nanoparticles and their incorporation into the matrix of Yttrium Barium Copper Oxide to improve superconductor properties. Later, she worked at Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH (MPIE) in Germany, focusing on nanomaterials for energy-related fields and advanced electron microscopy techniques. Since 2022, she has been a Senior Researcher at the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) and a Ramón y Cajal fellow, leading research on advanced STEM in-situ characterization of energy nanomaterials. She has published 28 articles in high-quality scientific journals and has given numerous lectures and presentations at national and international conferences. She also supervises bachelor, master, and Ph.D. students and has participated in research projects with various companies such as Bruker and Freudenberg Group, Innovation Together.
