Anna C. Balazs

Anna C. Balazs is the Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and holds the John A. Swanson Chair at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her PhD degree in materials science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After postdoctoral work in the Polymer Science Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. Balazs is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Materials Research Society. She was inducted into the National Academy of Sciences in 2021 and the National Academy of Engineering in 2022. Balazs can be reached by email at balazs@pitt.edu.
