Colin Ophus is a staff scientist at the National Center for Electron Microscopy (NCEM), part of the Molecular Foundry, at Lawrence Berkeley Lab. He runs a research group focused on methods, algorithms, and codes for analysis, simulation, and experiment design for scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). He works with users from around the world through his computational microscopy and materials science user program. He has published over 190 peer reviewed articles, given over 80 invited talks, received a Department of Energy (DOE) Early Career award (2018), and was awarded the Burton medal from the Microscopy Society of America (2022).
