Flavia Vitale is an assistant professor of neurology and bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her PhD degree in chemical engineering at the Università di Roma "La Sapienza" (Italy), then completed her training in chemical and biomolecular engineering at Rice University, where she was a Welch Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Vitale’s research focuses on novel bioelectronic technologies based on MXenes and other nanomaterials. Her awards and honors include the NIH K12 IREK, CURE Taking Flight, McCabe Fellow, and iCANX Global Young Scientist Award. She can be reached by email at vitalef@pennmedicine.upenn.edu.
