Guanyu Lu

Dr. Guanyu Lu is the inaugural Sir Fraser Stoddart Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University, working with Prof. Dayne F. Swearer in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2023 under the mentorship of Prof. Joshua D. Caldwell. His research investigates nanoscale light-matter interactions using advanced spectroscopy and microscopy, focusing on developing nanophotonic materials and devices for energy and sustainability applications. Dr. Lu is actively involved in the MRS Early Career Professionals Subcommittee and has been recognized as a 2025 Foresight Fellow, among the 2025 CAS Future Leaders Top 100, and a 2023 Rising Star in Materials Science and Engineering.
