Irene J. Beyerlein

Irene J. Beyerlein is the Mehrabian Interdisciplinary Professor and a distinguished professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her PhD degree at Cornell University and was an Oppenheimer Postdoctoral Fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). She remained at LANL as a scientist until 2016. She is an editor for Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia. She was awarded the LANL Fellow’s Prize, TMS Distinguished Scientist/Engineering Award (2018), Brimacombe Metal (2019), MRS Fellow (2021), and TMS Fellow (2023).
