Julie Nucci holds a BS in Materials Engineering from RPI, an MS in Applied Physics from Harvard University and MS and PhD degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University. She held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart, Germany and Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where she focused on materials science research, undergraduate engineering education, led The CNS Institute for Physics Teachers, and created a public communication of science course with the Science Communication Director of WSKG, her local PBS/NPR affiliate. Her career entered a new phase in 2023 when she founded a consulting company focused on two missions: 1) presentation coaching for STEM professionals and 2) supporting homeowners/underserved and historic communities seeking climate adaptation. She is the mother of two daughters and a bossy Bernedoodle, and grandmother to a 2-year-old grandson. She is an avid cook, birder, tennis and pickleball player.
