Rainer Adelung

Rainer Adelung is a full professor and holds the Chair for Functional Nanomaterials in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Materials Science at Kiel University. He received his PhD degree in physics in 2000. Since 2001, following a postdoctoral fellowship in materials science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, he has continuously worked in the field of materials science. His research focuses on nanomaterials and nanoscale devices, areas in which he has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed journal articles. Adelung can be reached by email at ra@tf.uni-kiel.de.
