Shaolou Wei is an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials (formerly for Iron Research), Germany. He received his PhD degree in physical metallurgy from MIT, followed by one-year postdoctoral research. In 2023, Dr. Wei joined the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research, where he was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship for his research in phase transformations. Dr. Wei currently focuses on integrating physical metallurgy, chemical metallurgy, and multi-scale in situ experimentations to explore new sustainable alloy processing and microstructure design solutions.
