Shriya Pai

Shriya Pai is a physicist specializing in quantum science and technology. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she focused on quantum many-body systems with applications in quantum computing. She previously worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where she engaged in public sector projects spanning education, public health, and climate policy. Her initiatives included enhancing state-level education data systems, developing a digital platform for targeted public health interventions, and devising emissions abatement strategies for US state climate programs aimed at decarbonizing buildings. As an MRS/Optica Congressional Fellow, she served in the office of Senator Ed Markey, advancing work on clean energy, climate, and environmental justice. Her portfolio included building decarbonization, energy affordability, clean transportation, and climate-health initiatives, among others.
