Mostafa Bedewy obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design and Production Engineering (honors) in 2006, and his Master's degree in Mechanical Design in 2009, both from Cairo University. He was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer at the same university before moving to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he joined the PhD program to work on studying the population dynamics of self-organizing nanostructures (expected graduation in December 2013). He has published 13 journal articles, 9 papers in refereed conference proceedings, and more than 40 other conference publications. His research interests include nanomanufacturing, nanoscale metrology and material characterization, chemical synthesis, nanoparticle self-assembly, filamentary hierarchical nanostructures, and precision design.
