Nathan Mara

Nathan A. Mara is an Associate Professor and Shell Chair at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities since Fall 2017. He spent 12 years as a staff member/thrust leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) where he was deputy director of the Institute for Materials Science. He has received the TMS Young Leader’s Professional Development Award, LANL Distinguished Mentor Performance Award, and the International Journal of Plasticity Young Investigator Award for contributions to understanding plastic deformation mechanisms in metals and nanocomposites.
