Eckhard Quandt

Eckhard Quandt studied physics in Kiel and Berlin where he received his diploma and doctorate in 1986 and 1990. Since 1991 he is working on smart materials first in Karlsruhe, afterwards in Bonn and since 2006 at Kiel University where he holds the Chair for Inorganic Functional Materials. From 2014 to 2016 he was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He is member of the DFG review board “Materials Science” and of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering.
