Marian Nowak

Marian Nowak received the MSc degree in applied physics with honors from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland (1977), the PhD in solid state physics (1981) and DSc in optoelectronics (1986) from the Military University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland. In 1999 he obtained the scientific title of professor, Warsaw, Poland. Since 1977 he has been at the Institute of Physics at the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, currently as a full professor and head of the Solid State Physics Section in Katowice. He was a contract professor at the University of Bari (1987 and 1993) and University of Camerino (1991), Italy. He has published 5 monographs, 7 textbooks, and more than 150 papers on optical, photoelectrical, and photoelectromagnetic phenomena in semiconductors as well as on sonochemical nanotechnology, sensors and actuators.
