Marco Bernardi

University of California, Berkeley

I am a postdoctoral researcher working jointly in the Physics Department of the University of California, Berkeley, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. I received my Ph.D. from MIT in 2013 working with Prof. Jeffrey Grossman. I specialize in theoretical / computational materials science and condensed matter physics. I am investigating ideas at the intersection of ultrafast science, excited state dynamics, solar energy, and first-principles electronic structure calculations. My recent research interests include light absorption, light emission, and energy conversion in nanomaterials, with a focus on ultrafast (sub-picosecond) excited state dynamics.
