Alistair Rowe is a CNRS researcher and associate professor, teaching at both the Ecole Polytechnique and at Supelec in Paris, France. His research concerns spin dynamics and the effect of mechanical stress on the electrical properties of semiconductors and their nanostructures. After undergraduate study at the University of Western Australia, he completed his PhD with R.A. (Tony) Stradling at Imperial College in London. Post-doctoral stints at the NEC Research Institute, Princeton University and the UniversitA Paris Sud led to his current tenured appointment in 2004.
