Ian McCue is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2015. After graduating, he held a dual postdoctoral appointment at JHU and ASU. Ian’s research interests include diffusion, morphological evolution, and physical metallurgy. His recent work focuses on utilizing self-organization to develop new nanostructured metallic materials, and characterizing their mechanical behavior. Ian received a Materials Research Society Silver Graduate Student Award in 2014 for his work on the “Mechanical properties of hierarchical, refractory-based nanocomposites.” In 2013 he served as the co-chair of the Gordon Research Seminar on “Thin Film and Crystal Growth Mechanisms.”
