Renske van der Veen

Renske M. van der Veen obtained her PhD from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2010 in the field of ultrafast X-ray spectroscopy, after which she became a postdoctoral researcher in the Zewail lab at the California Institute of Technology working on ultrafast electron microscopy and spectroscopy. She became a project group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen in 2013, and joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as an Assistant Professor in 2015. Her lab focuses on unraveling solar energy conversion pathways using ultrafast X-ray and electron-based tools.
