She became a project group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen in 2013, and joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as an Assistant Professor in 2015. Her lab focuses on unraveling solar energy conversion pathways using ultrafast X-ray and electron-based tools.
