Andrew Bell

Andrew Bell is Professor of Electronic Materials at the University of Leeds (2000- ). He holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Birmingham (1978) and a PhD in Ceramic Science and Engineering from the University of Leeds (1984). He has previously held industrial research positions in the Plessey Company (1978-81), Cookson Group plc (1984-89) and Oxley Developments (1995-2000), and was a Senior Scientist at EPFL, Switzerland (1991-95). His research interests cover all aspects of ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2016. He is also the founder and Chief Scientific Adviser of Ionix Advanced Technologies Ltd, which manufactures high temperature ultrasound transducers.
