Patrick Dennis

Air Force Research Laboratory

Patrick Dennis received his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in 1993 working on the purification and characterization of human protein kinases. As a post-doc, he studied signal transduction related to the regulation of protein synthesis at the Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel, Switzerland in the lab of George Thomas from 1993-2001. From 2001-2008, he served as an Assistant Professor at Wright State University and the University of Cincinnati studying the molecular mechanisms of protein degradation through macroautophagy. In 2008, he joined the Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a contractor (UES, Inc., Dayton, OH), studying properties of protein-based materials from marine organisms. He converted to a government position in 2014 where his work on protein-based biomaterials has continued.
