Katherine A. Mazzio

Dr. Katherine A. Mazzio is currently a member of the joint research group Operando Battery Analysis at the Humboldt University of Berlin and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Washington in 2014 studying hybrid materials for optoelectronic applications and joined Helmholtz–Zentrum Berlin in 2015 where her research focuses on understanding the synthesis and transport properties of materials for energy conversion and storage applications. Since 2020 she has been working with Prof. Philipp Adelhelm and focusing her efforts on in-situ and operando characterization of materials for electrochemical energy storage, in particular with synchrotron-based techniques. Katherine has also been an active member of the Early Career Professionals Subcommittee of the MRS since 2019.
