Ali Miserez

Ali Miserez has been a Faculty member at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore since 2009. He graduated from EPFL (Switzerland) with a PhD (2003) in composite materials and mechanics of materials. He pursued a post-doc at UC Santa Barbara, where he broadened his research expertise towards biomimetic materials and biochemistry of extra-cellular tissues. In 2011 he was awarded the Singapore NRF Fellowship, a $3 million individual grant for early career scientists. Dr. Miserez’s research is centered on revealing the molecular, physico-chemical, and structural principles from biological materials, and on translating these discoveries into novel biomimetic materials.
