Aleksandar Ostrogorsky

Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology

Dr. Aleksandar Ostrogorsky is a professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in the Armour College of Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His research interests include heat and mass transfer phenomena occurring in materials processing as well as directional solidification and single crystal growth focusing on semiconductor alloys. Dr. Ostrogorsky is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers as well as serving as an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has received numerous awards, including a National Science Foundation Initiation Award, a NASA Certificate of Achievement, and was the investigator for the first research project conducted in the Microgravity Science Glovebox on the ISS.
