Yuntian Zhu

Yuntian Zhu has recently joined the City University of Hong Kong as a Chair Professor. Previously, he was a Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University, where he worked from 2007 to 2020. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher, staff member, and team leader at the Los Alamos National Laboratory until 2007. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994. His research has focused on the deformation mechanisms at dislocation level and mechanical behaviors of heterostructured materials, and nano-/ultraine-grained materials. He is an experimentalist with primary interest in fundamental aspects of materials research and also in designing materials with superior strength and ductility.
