Steven Young

Steven Young served in the Navy for over 13 years as a nuclear operator, chemist, and radiological controls expert onboard several submarines. He has a BS in biochemistry from the University of Puget Sound, and recently received his MS in chemistry, with a polymer focus, from the University of Oregon. He has been participating in an internship with Dr. Brian Patterson at Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Materials Science and Technology Group since January of this year. His studies at LANL have focused on X-ray computed tomography techniques and have afforded him the opportunity to study a breadth of material morphologies.
