Antti Makinen

Antti Makinen joined the Office of Naval Research (ONR) as a program officer in 2015. Currently, he is the ONR Materials Focus Area Lead overseeing a diverse portfolio of basic and applied research in multifunctional materials. Prior to ONR he worked for 15 years as a research scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory where his work focused on optoelectronic materials. He received his M.S. in engineering physics from Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland, and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.
