Beatriz Noheda

Noheda received her PhD in Physics in 1996 from the Autonomous University of Madrid and held stays and positions at the Clarendon Laboratory in Oxford, Brookhaven National Lab in New York and the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In 2003 she was awarded a Rosalind Franklin Fellowship (tenure-track) by the University of Groningen, where she is now Full Professor. Noheda is elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and has received the IEEE-Robert E. Newnham Ferroelectrics award for her research on ferroelectric and multiferroic materials. She has served in numerous committees and several editorial boards. She receives more than 10 invitations per year to speak in international conferences and has given 10 plenary and keynote talks. Currently Noheda serves as director of the newly founded Groningen Center for Cognitive Systems and Materials (CogniGron). Noheda is a member of the MRS since 2001 and has an active relationship with the MRS, serving in various committees, co-organizing several symposia an acting as mentor of younger MRS members.
