Monica Lira-Cantu

Monica Lira-Cantu is the Full Professor and Group Leader of the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group (NMPE) at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) in Barcelona, Spain. She obtained her PhD degree in materials science in 1997 and worked as a staff chemist for ExxonMobil Research & Engineering from 1999-2001. In 2006 she initiated her laboratory, NMPE, as an independent researcher. She became a tenured track scientist in 2007, research associate in 2011, and research professor in 2022 from the Spanish National Research Council. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of APL Energy.
